The Victorian Feltmakers Inc is a voluntary organisation with around 200 members. These are feltmakers ranging from beginners to experienced. We meet to share the latest feltmaking techniques, keep up to date with happenings in the world of felt and wool fibre, and share and support the development of the feltmaking community.

The organisation provides a network of mutual support and encouragement for feltmakers through the exchange of ideas and information, meetings, classes and six issues per year of Feltlines magazine.

Membership is available to feltmakers of all standards. Joining the Victorian Feltmakers Inc. provides you with:

  • A quarterly newsletter: It contains information on workshops, techniques, events, meeting reports, samples and profiles.

  • Information about our comprehensive workshop program that covers beginners to advanced topics.

  • 6 meetings per year, each with guest speaker, show and tell and general meeting section as well as the information board and fibre shop for all your feltmaking needs.

  • A bi-annual retreat in regional Victoria

  • A library of books, magazines and videos for members to borrow. Equipment, such as hat blocks and shoe lasts can also be borrowed by members.

  • Chance to exhibit your work

A number of members are available for tutoring, professional advice and commissions. Most activities occur in Melbourne, though many members come from country Victoria.
